Built for South Africans,
by South Africans
RandSmart exists because South Africans deserve financial tools that understand our laws, our tax rules, and our products — not international calculators that ignore transfer duty, the Two-Pot system, or SARS brackets.

Our mission
International financial tools are built for the US or UK market. They have no concept of transfer duty, the National Credit Act, SARS income tax brackets, the Two-Pot Retirement System, or estate duty. South African financial decisions are different — and the tools should be too.
RandSmart is a free, independent platform offering a comprehensive suite of SA financial calculators. Every figure is calculated using current SARB rates, SARS tables, and actual product data from SA banks and investment providers. We update these whenever the law changes.
How we make money
RandSmart is free to use. We earn revenue through two transparent mechanisms:
- Partner referrals — after you've seen your results, we may show a contextual widget linking to a relevant licensed financial services provider. These are always clearly labelled, never alter the calculation, and the provider must hold a valid FSCA licence.
- Display advertising — a maximum of one Google AdSense unit per page, placed below results. No interstitials, no pop-ups, no sticky banners.
Our calculation results are never influenced by commercial relationships. A paying partner cannot change their position in ranked results — they receive a "Featured" label, nothing more.
What we are not
RandSmart is an information and calculation platform. We are not:
- A registered Financial Services Provider (FSP) under FAIS
- A registered tax practitioner
- A credit bureau or credit provider under the NCA
- Affiliated with any bank, insurer, or financial institution
Every calculator result is an estimate based on the inputs you provide and current legislation. For decisions involving your money, always consult a registered financial advisor, tax practitioner, or attorney.
