RandSmart is committed to transparency about every commercial relationship on this platform.
Our three non-negotiable rules
Calculations are never influenced by commercial relationships
A provider paying for a featured listing cannot alter their position in ranked results or change the underlying figures. Our maths is independent — always.
Every commercial placement is visually distinct and labelled
Partner referral widgets are clearly marked. There are no dark patterns, implied endorsements, or advertising that masquerades as a calculator result.
Advertising is contextual, not generic
A partner slot on the bond calculator must relate to property finance. A life insurance banner on an unrelated calculator is disqualifying for that slot.
How partner widgets work
After you complete a calculation and view your results, a contextual partner widget may appear. This widget uses your actual calculated output to generate a personalised prompt — for example, showing your specific cover gap in the Insurance Needs Analyser.
The widget includes a [?] disclosure icon that, when clicked, displays:
No partner widget appears above the fold or before you have seen your results.
Partner qualification requirements
Any business appearing as a partner on RandSmart must meet all of the following criteria:
- Registered Financial Services Provider (FSP) with a valid FSCA licence number
- No active FSCA enforcement actions at the time of listing
- Clear, upfront fee disclosure to users before any commitment
- Signed agreement to RandSmart's referral partner terms, including a prohibition on misleading users about the platform's independence
- Contextual relevance to the specific calculator where the widget appears
Ad placements
Each calculator page has a maximum of two advertising placements:

No interstitials, pop-ups, or sticky banners are permitted on any RandSmart page.
Sponsored rate listings
In the Savings Provider Comparison tool, providers may pay for a "Featured" placement. The following rules apply:
- Maximum of two featured products per comparison page
- The "Featured" badge is clearly displayed and explained
- Featured products appear above other results but below any product that legitimately ranks #1 or #2 by the user's chosen metric
- The "Best Net Return" and similar calculated badges cannot be sponsored — they are awarded by maths only
Data and privacy
We do not share your calculator inputs or results with any partner at the point of referral. Partners receive only standard referral attribution (that you arrived from RandSmart). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
